I'm currently in the DEP and have always wanted to occupy an officers position. I figured I would start enlisted and make the move through OTS or try to obtain a scholarship while enlisted to attend AFROTC. I've changed my mind and want to go straight into AFROTC. I was wondering if this is at all possible. I realize this is poor planing and I'm more than willing to take the repercussions for such a brash movment. Also; do I need an aeronautics specific major to become a pilot?

As far as getting out of your prior commitment at this point, I don't have an answer for you.
However, you do not need an aerospace related degree to be a pilot. Most who desire to become a pilot get a degree in history, poly sci, etc. Something that is easy and will get them the highest GPA, since that is one of the biggest factor for your ranking. While a aero related degree may slightly improve your odds. Generally unless you're an engineer or medical, the AF could care less what your degree is in.
