If you have applied for an AFROTC scholarship, I'd appreciate hearing your thoughts on this.
In the required "Counselor Certification" form, they have you fill in bubbles for sport participation, ASB, Boys/Girls State, and others. I'm not strong in the area of sports or ASB, so the application will look rather blank. This is only a part of the application process, though, so my question is, if it's a bit blank will it automatically diminish my chances of being selected to almost nothing? It's frustrating how they only care about sports and ASB. There are so many other things someone can do that would qualify them for a scholarship. As for myself, by the time of my application I will have a PPL with IFR, Commercial, and other endorsements. Along with the experience of owning and managing a business. Those sort of things aren't covered by the applications, so I'm afraid they will be overlooked. Thank you for you opinions, Kobbe |

Your chances are based on other factors e.g. the interview is weighted heavily so I wouldn't throw in the towel yet. Doesn't cost you anything to apply.

The scolarship process tries to look at the whole picture. Many people are in lots of clubs, and might even hold a position in them, but their actual workload and leadership experience can vary greatly. You interview is your chance to really show off what you've done and why the Air Force should make you an officer. Having you're pilots license with rating will look good. In your essay and interview, be sure to decribe in detail you business experience, highlighting any leadership experience.
