I am a full-time student at a California community college. I am set to transfer to a 4-yr after the Spring '08 semester. I am also a collegiate athlete: water polo, swimming, & softball. I am currently being recruited to Queens College (NY) for water polo.
I think Queens, being an inner-city college, only has Army ROTC through a cross-town w/ St. John's. Is there anything not on the internet that would tell me otherwise?
I am applying to other schools - Univ of Hawaii (has AFROTC), Penn State (has), etc. I am a International Studies & Russian double-major. Also, once transferring I would be a junior and I know there are 2-yr ROTC programs but how would that be a factor? If accepted to U of Hawaii I'm thinking to do a language major that combines 3 (Russian, Korean, & Arabic).
Being that I am already a double-major should I wait 'til after college for officer options? What are common jobs in the AF for people like me? Thank you.

2-yr ROTC program is not a factor - you'll just have to attend a 6-week field training camp to "catch-up" on the first two years. Whether you wait till after college is up to you but then you'll need to apply and be selected to OTS. You can do many jobs (except engineering, pilot etc...) but it is very likely you'll be placed in a career that can utilize your language skills.
