I have some time yet before I go into the Navy (about 7months), but I heard that the Navy's uniform changed. I ironically know what the Marines, Army and Air Force use (more or less), but have only seen Navy people (mostly recruiters) in their whites or blues. What is used for Boot Camp?
The changes will eliminate the coveralls (will again be only for submariners) and utlilties (which replaced the old dungarees) and change them to a new digital cami's
also eliminates the service blues/whites and replaces them with a year round service uniform
boot camp...used utilities.........yes all the time..xcept for battlestations..then we finally got to wear our coveralls...sadly for you..you won't get coveralls (the greatest thing since sliced bread hehe)
no...the dress whites, dress blues stay (those are the ones with the flap in the back), and that's about it..
um the working white and blues(the ones the recruiters generally wear, are going away (THANK YOU GOD!!!...they get soo dirty so quick..arr) the utilities are going away (another thank you god....you wear these all the freaking time!!! ar)...and the coveralls go bye bye..
my command just talked to us about the new uniform...for working..it'll be a black/blue..not sure bottom, and tan top.(much like marines...) i like them..they look good. then the blue bds..totally bad ***..and comfortable..oh ya!

By this fall They will fully hit the fleet, and the official full, mandatory changeover is in Jan I believe, with special uniform allotment to those in for the switch. They've started the phase in at boot already. Works the same way it did for dungarees and utilities.

Submariniers get to keep the coveralls? Thats damn good news since im goin the bubblehead way.
Like the foul weather jacket and the sub sweater, you won't be able to get them until you actually hit the fleet (meaning you make it through sub training).
