You'll be too busy most times to worry about the elements
If you have a positive attitude and put forth a minimum of 100% you will do well. Eyes open, mouth shut, and listen to what the Drill Sergeants say. Soak up information like a sponge
I did basic at Knox little over a year ago. Your lucky, it's "nice" there. Expect some BIG *** hills, thankfully not coed training, wet, cold, and some pretty muddy days when training in the woods. Reception is a joke, spent 13 days there. Was done with everything in 4 days, sat around for the rest. I had fun at basic, just keep your mouth shut, do as told, and have fun!
Are you doing just basic or OSUT? I just finished OSUT for 19K on December 18th and let me tell you I am glad to be out of there. The weather in Kentucky is too strange for this California boy that's for sure. It would be freezing cold for a few days and then all of the sudden you had a warm day. WTF??? We did get some flakes on two days but it was nothing that would build up. I imagine it will be heavier in January/February. However it was below freezing when we finished our Gold Phase FTX with the 15K road march. It was supposedly 6 degrees Farrenheit with wind chill factored in. That's a night I will never forget
