Basic Training

I've only experienced one, and have two friends experiencing the other, so I need to figure out if the tricks I learned for dealing with constant tiredness would be good enough to help them. Please answer only if you've experienced both.

Question:
Which made you more exhausted: Army Basic Combat Training, or Mononucleosis?

Choices:
BCT
Mono

Mono is a serious illness,it's wipes out all your strength.BCT is tiring but,if your in good shape, you'll be just fine every morning when you wake up to face the next day of training.Mono can take many days or even weeks to recover from.

I got Mono when I was at Subic Bay. Was in bed for 30days (Doctors orders). And it took forever to completely recover. Al thou I'm sure going out in town and partying ever chance I got didn't help.

Army BCT was a breeze.

OMG, my daughter caught it from a client. She is a hairdresser. She had it for 1 month. No strength. No appetite. And she ran fever, puking at least once a day if not more. I even had to ice her down a couple times!! You'd do much better at BCT.

I think what he is getting at is that a lot of people get mono at BCT. By week 4 there were 5 guys in my company who were sent home on convalesent leave for mono and I know of at least one other who didn't go home.

Yes, I know, and my point was don't swap canteens and be careful as you can, but some things just happen. If your base has the facillity to keep you away from others; great, but no matter what, you need to be away from others.
