I will be using this stickey to post happenings here on Military.com that have an effect on all forums. Or if it specifically effects this forum.

Now on to some issues.

1. Repetitive posts.

While this will and shall continue to be a problem with these forums. There is not much that can be done. Yes each person can use the "Find" feature and try to find their topic. But Military.com will now until further notice delete message threads that are 60 days or older. Because of this expect to see and have to answer alot of the same posts over and over.

One thing if you do not want to answer a repeat post over and over. Help guide the original poster to a similar message thread.

(Note: The Site Admins are aware of this issue and others because of the deletions and are working to adjust the program so it will possibly delete posts that are older then 120 days. More info on this matter later.)

2. Name calling and personal attacks (TOS violations)

One thing that really needs to happen on this forum is that there has to be some extra tolerance given to the newbies. Keep in mind many of the posters on here are still in high school and more then likely have no idea as to what it is like in the Military. While the remaining majority of posters are military or prior service folks. Please keep this in mind and just cut some slack to the newbies.

I will post more later in this thread. Right now my brain is mush from work and I need to wind down.

Just a small request...is there anyway to make the thread that SFC HIX started back in 04 a sticky? That thread has alot of useful information in it and it would be a shame to see that thread get deleted if someone had not posted on it for more than 60 days.
Anyways, just a thought!

I will for the time being stickey the topic in question to the top. I will also leave it open since I see a few people replying to it and getting responses from others.

Military.com email and other server problems.

For those of you that need or want to contact members of these forums. I recommend first attempting to reach them through their profile.

Or you can leave a post letting the individual know you want to get in contact with them.
