"i know its bootcamp"
Wrong, it is Basic Combat Training. Boot Camp is where the Marines send their rectuits. Now, see what happens once you get to basic and make the mistake and refer to is as Boot Camp.
The following info I got from typing in Ft Leonard Wood using the Google Search engine:

Fort Leonard Wood & MANSCENHome to Police School, Chemical School, and Engineer School among many others.

I was at FLW in 2001. I couldn't tell you if anything has changed, but at reception they have 3 living facilities where you stay for those 3 or 4 days. They're actually pretty nice areas.

The main reception hall is nice as well, but you'll be doing a lot of sitting around reading through your Soldier Handbook. Take the time to read through it and study the material as you can and will be constantly quizzed. We had a lot of idiots who failed to read it and would talk more, even after being told to shut up. Needless to say, we were punished a few times there because of it.

I never made it to Basic (sat in reception for 1 month 4 days waiting on a med. discharge. I am speaking with a recruiter tomorrow to possibly re-enlist, but since I'm not going to look into MP anymore, I doubt I'll go back to FLW.

Also know, Fort Leonard Wood is considered Fort Lost in the Woods. Have fun!

Bunch of us moms whining about our kids, but there is a good bit of info in there about how basic training is there.

Honestly, I was there from May 4 to July 14 2006. Heat cat 5 the whole time. Neways keep in mind that its just a game and you will enjoy it. It will quite possibly be the best time of your army career.

Was actually just here from May 8 to July 15. (Got injured so now I'm home on Con-Leave for 30 days, my journey will be a bit longer)
FLW is really "Lost in the Woods". You will arrive in St. Louis and take a two hour bus ride to FLW. Your buss will stop infront of the 43rd Reception. (You will see rocks painted with Loyalty, Duty, Respect, etc.)
A Drill Sergeant will come on the bus (mine was a female) and begin your transition to military life. (Keep in mind this is only reception)
You will spend aproximately a week in reception wearing a pistol belt, PTs, and a 1 qt canteen.
Then, depending on your MOS you will go to your OSUT or Basic Training.
Mine was OSUT for 21C. It's actually quite fun if you remember that being smoked, or caked, is actually just exercise and is intended to help you on your PT test Smile
Seriously the first 3 weeks are hell, but after that you start BRM, then ARM, and it's actually really fun.
Best advice--Do what you're told to do as quickly as you can. That's it, if you do that you will be fine.
