Not sure if this has been posted on here before, but in my search for information regarding VA benefits, I started reading the CFR pertaining to ratings and exactly how the VA SHOULD conduct the review.

I'll be kicking mine off in Seattle this fall. Anyone out there in Seattle area got any advice for me?

Either way, hope this helps those in or headed towards the process.

Cheers,
Scott

This is a link to the eCFR, and it's easy to navigate.

eCFR 38 part 4

If you already know what ails you, scroll down to the bottom and look at the alphabetical listing of disabilities. See how they are worded for each percentage. You should have a good idea where you fall into it. It will also help you when you write your statement as far as what words to use, etc.

Also, you might take a look at www.hadit.com. It's a great website to research disability stuff and ask questions. Lots of excellent information there.

Make sure all your ailments are documented in your service medical record. If you have an ailment, make sure there is an actual 'diagnosis' in there. Getting a diagnosis post-service for 'symptoms & complaints' while on active duty is difficult to make the nexus (service connection).

Good luck to ya!
