Could anyone give me any input on the length of time a Med Board can take, once it's been submitted by your medical command? I understand that it is probably for case-dependent. However, just looking for an approximate time frame.

I would plan on a year at least. I'm in a med board status right now and thats what I'm planning. I think it might even go past that! The CG is way backlogged right now in respects to MEB's.

The fastest I have seen a med board processed is 8 months.

Remember: Plan for the worst, and be your own self advocate. Ask lots of questions and be a pain in the a$$ when it comes to knowing whats going on with your case.

Peace!!

My medical board took about 8 months at my 18 year mark. The CG findings were to medical retire me at that point at normal 50% retirement pay. I requested to complete 20 years of service and retire normally then deal with the VA and medical stuff. CG granted request after several attempts. It is a long waiting process but worth it.
