Just wondering other Vets experience with the VA as far as rating Carpal Tunnel for compensation? Documented on Active Duty and had surgery on one hand (other documented as needing it on Active duty) as well as problems with cervical disks 3 & 5. Daily pain/numbness in shoulders, hands and neck. C&P exam on Tuesday (FINALLY) and curious what to expect. Neurologist reports document the conditions very well. Still need the other hand surgery done and am hoping to visit the chiropractor at my local VA when this is all said and done. Anyone else get a rating for CTS or cervical disk problems and what was your final VA outcome for compensation?
I was rated at 10% for carpal tunnel syndrome in my right wrist, and 10% for tendonitis in my left. It was documented in my record during AD that a doctor had diagnosed my left as tendonitis long ago, but it feels the same to me in both wrists. I guess it doesn't matter, because they were both 10% each. I also have been rated at 10% for a cervical spine disorder in the vertabrae between my shoulder blades. I also have numbness in both hands from my CTS, as well as pain in the wrists and elbows. If your service medical record is well documented for the problems, you should have no problem getting them rated at least at 10% for each wrist. Not sure what you can expect for your disc problems, as that can be various different causes. Good luck! CJA
Thanks for the feedback CWOInsp! Kind of surprised not much feedback on the subject but glad others dont have to deal with the daily numbness/pain. Had an MK2 who worked for me 10 years ago walking around in wrist splints and I thought it was a joke. Must have cursed myself because now I know its not pleasant to deal with.
