While surfing around the inter-web tonight I stumbled upon This Has anyone ever had any experience with this benefit? Am I reading this right? Are Massachusetts veterans missing out on something they don't know about? I certainly never heard of this? They even have a direct deposit option at the bottom. Hmmmm I think this might be worthy of a little investigation? -Jeff
I picked up the $300.00 Viet Nam veterans bonus when I got out for a couple months way back in 1970. Did not realize the commonwealth continued those programs along over the years. Interesting.
A few years back, while I was still in, i about fell out of my chair when I read that Mass. had stopped taxing Military Retired pay. I had enlisted in Springfield Mass.
According to my 1998 Retired Military Almanac, Mass -----> "All retired pay is exempt. To same extent as on federal level. RSFPP/SBP benefits are taxable."
Wray...
P.S. Florida ----> "No tax on military retired pay or SBP/RSFPP annuities."
