Hehehe. What? I stole the line from the Movie. Why you're absolutely corect. Big Grin

OK I'm a running, and I'm a running for a reason. What? No, the cops aren't chasing me, I've a better reason than that. Whats that? I'm an escapee from reality and they've released the hounds. Comon get real, If they haven't tried to drag me back to the asylum by now, well, I don't think they want me. Something about it being nice and quiet while I've been gone.

Hey enough with the questions and commentary; who are guys anyway? Someone get the Hecklers from the muppet show a beer so they shut up.

OK I'm training to run in the Marine Corps Marathon come Oct 26th. Now sure i've used my feet go some distances while I was in the Army. Now I'm trying something different. Think about how far some people walk in a day. Think about howfar you walk in a day: Now try running that distance.

I'm gonna try to run a 26.2 mile race, (not to win yeah thats a pipe dream) to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. So to that end I'm Going to start posting my training mileage and times.

So this morning I got out just before sunrise and ran. Now I alternate days from just a straight run to cross training, So don't look for a posting of high mileages everyday. And I'm scheduling a recoverday where I vegitate.
Hey, some one get those Muppets a gag! No not you Fonzie Bear, I mean something to shut them up.

So for today I've done;
Eight Miles in One Hour and Thirty Four Minutes.
8 mi/1:34

End of June I'll also total my monthly miles, so anyone who wants to start a pool, its got to be closed to new entrants by June 4th. Otherwise you may see an overall pattern and then it becomes too easy.

Wish me health. I'm gonna need it. Big Grin

Good morning and it was a good morning for an easy run. Today was to be a cross training day, but it is also Graduation Day. That being the case I figured the fitness center may not be open so I did a slow easy run of about 5 miles according to my map. I'll need to clock the distance later to be certain.

5mi/ 1:10
So now I am just chilling on the comp with coffee by my side.

Have a good day all.

you have fun with the run, its more than i would ever do since i hate to run. which wouldnt make sense since i use to play soccer and basketball.

Now the fact that you are talking to yourself, you can come talk to me after i graduate from graduate school. I will hopefully have a degree in psychology that might be able to help you and all the others that talk to themselves on this here forum!!! Big Grin

From one runner to another, that's awesome! Way to go. I think I may do Team in Training for the half next year. I surprised myself by jumping in a 12K for this Friday with no training at all.

There are some good training plans out there. Are you just going by the seat of your pants or do you have a plan to follow? I will certainly be reading this thread and keeping up as you progress. Good luck!

Duckie, there are plenty of people out in this world who are crazier than myself; Most have a degree and deal in psycho-babble or politics. Razz

Still after 32 years of work with DoD I'm beyond medical help. A Shaman is more honest in his dealing with the human psyche and a whole hell of a lot more cost effective too. Big Grin

Daniels, I'm just sort of blending a few different programs and flying by the seat of my pants on this.

Tuesdays and Thursdays are my cross training days and progressive distance days are on Friday. Although I will alter the schedule the closer I come to Race Day on Sunday, October 26th.

My goal isn't to win an age group, weight group, category, or funnist running ensemble. But to finish well; after I've raised funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I've a good start. International Association of Firefighters, Local F-7 has donated $200 and a few local businesses have said they'll support my insanity too. Big Grin

Also I've got some good leads and contacts now it time to write a bunch more letters requesting support. well I'm off (and the shrinks all nod their heads knowingly) have a good evening.

Todays report.
So who ran? according to my training regimen I'm suposed to cross train a couple of days a week and rest.

I wonder if a 22 mile bicycle ride counts as rest?

Tomorrow I run again. 6 miles is on the agenda.

Last time I waterskied, I was 55.

Man did I pay for that the next week.

It was fun, but the recoup was HE77. Big Grin

I may not post for a while; a friend of mine who had a rather agressive brain cancer passed on yesterday. He used to ride annually till last year, to raise funds against AIDS. I've got a small blog, Q's Escapades, and posted a small tribute to him there.

everyone have a safe week.
