The Secret in Happiness is not doing what one likes, but in liking what one does. ~ James M. Barrie
Morning Peeps!! I watched an excellent movie last night that I definitely recommend. Tyler Perrys "Why Did I Get Married". It was sad, funny, true to form. I thought it was going to be a chick flick so I watched it last night while my husband had FTX. But in reality, we should of watched it together. I havent mailed it back yet, we will watch it tonight.
And..............my 25th wedding anniversary is next month!! 25 years of unwedded bliss. Come on, seriously...not every marriage is perfect and you would be fooling yourself into thinking it is. 25 years of numerous ups and downs, of alot of not liking each - but NEVER falling out of love. 25 years of separations due to deployments, 25 years of pride in the man I married. He does so much for me that I often fail to let him know. He used to say that I was the glue that holds our family together, I think HE is that glue that holds us together. He never judges, he never criticizes unless it is constructive. He encourages me to be the best I can be. He pushes me to excell when I am too tired. Our kids our great kids because of him. He may not of been around for alot of their lives, but he never failed to let them know he was always there for them, if not physically - emotionally. It shows in everything they do. They are kind and caring souls because of me, and they are motivated career orientated goal setters due to their father. He is a great man. I may have to buy him a cookie!! 25 years. Who knew????? Certainly not our parents...maybe certainly not us. This military life is hard, it takes effort - but it shouldnt have to fill like work.
So ladies....you can keep your marriages alive. Honesty and respect are key. Communication is as well. But if you are not honest w/ each and first and foremost respect each other...how can you be true to yourself.
WOW...Mustang..that's great to hear. 25 years is something to be proud of. Yes...there are lots of bumps in the roads...and some pot holes...(actually experiencing one of them now myself). But...you keep pushing on!
By the way...I love Tyler Perry movies! Haven't seen that one yet...just might have to watch it tonight "On Demand".
