I pick Banks...He's a great guy. Supportive of his wife and gives great support to all of us on here too. He's funny, witty, and pretty helpful when I have questions about Hubby's Harley.

Love ya Banks! Big Grin

I pick tank, cause he's funny and polite, and cause its not nice that he's recently been the object of a none-too-subtle suspension campaign. Wink

Gooooo Tank!

Something nice. OK, my back hurts and I am cranky, but I will say nice things. Cuz you make me.

1. Tank - confess partiality to that boy. I think because he has fun, but is also non-political and, he does have a personality a lot like some of my German kinfolks.

2. TUV - always looks on the sunny side of life for others, now if he would just do that for himself. There is something irresistably lovable about him.

3. BV - reminds me very much of my own brother, in good ways and in bad.

4. RONCO - even tempered and fair

5. Barry - a very unusually creative mind. Highly sociable and mixes well with any and all.

6. army engineer - most pleasantly sociable

7. Q - a powerful gentleman, both in appearance and personality

8. Have I forgot anybody? Feel free to complain and I will try to do better.

lol....okay, I cave.

Ray: for his HUGE heart and capacity to love and be vulnerable--and not lose one iota of his masculinity in the process. Wink

BV&Sheridan: for their wonderful sense of humor and ability to cut to the heart of the matter without being an azz about it. Big Grin

Banks: a big sweetie who loves his wife and has a great sense of humor. Smile

SGT: for his insight and his funny pictures. Smile

Milmech: my husband. The love of my life that goes back 20 years now and forever will be. My pride and joy. His sense of humor, his infinite love, his capacity to help others, his intelligence. His ability to accept what is thrown at him and take on things that are difficult.

See? I told y'all it would be biased. Wink Big Grin

Ummm...k. I don't know too many of the guys in here, except from when they come running into our room to wreck havoc. I'm gonna say much the same as the others:

Banks is a great guy who loves his wife very much, and who very sweetly send her chocolates!

TUV, you're trying to make things work in your new house for your son, and that's great. Plus, you like rotties!

milmech, you're awesome because of your love for BAW. I hope my DH and I are still like that in twenty years.

Other guys...must be great to be here! Sorry, I don't really know anyone else, hehe.

And Ray, because your sweetheart is always showing!!!(It just bleeds thru the leather, doesn't it?)

THE MAN WHO KNOWS HIS MATH
~
He writes:

I was riding to work yesterday when I observed a female driver, who cut right in front of a pickup truck, causing the driver to drive onto the shoulder to avoid hitting her.

This evidently angered the driver enough that he hung his arm out his window and gave the woman the finger.

'Man, that guy is stupid,' I thought to myself. I ALWAYS smile nicely and wave in a sheepish manner whenever a female does anything to me in traffic, and here's why:

I drive 48 miles each way every day to work.
That's 96 miles each day.
Of these, 16 miles each way is bumper-to-bumper.
Most of the bumper-to-bumper is on an 8 lane highway.
There are 7 cars every 40 feet for 32 miles.
That works out to 982 cars every mile, or 31,424 cars.
Even though the rest of the 32 miles is not bumper-to-bumper, I figure I pass at least another 4000 cars. That brings the number to something like 36,000 cars that I pass every day.

Statistically, females drive half of these.
That's 18,000 women drivers!
In any given group of females, 1 in 28 has PMS.
That's 642.
According to Cosmopolitan, 70% describe their love life as dissatisfying or unrewarding.
That's 449.
According to the National Institute of Health, 22% of all females have seriously considered suicide or homicide.
That's 98.
And 34% describe men as their biggest problem.
That's 33.

According to the National Rifle Association, 5% of all females carry
weapons and this number is increasing.

That means that EVERY SINGLE DAY, I drive past at least one female that has a lousy love life, thinks men are her biggest problem, has seriously considered suicide or homicide, has PMS, and is armed.

Give her the finger? I don't think so.

Big Grin

okay, you all wanted to know why, here it is..

First: it was to see if each sex could say something something without breaking the rules, and, the men won this one... Sorry ladies, but they did..

THE most important reason though and really the one I am most proud of is that, everyone can say something nice without it turning into a pizzing match, in which case, we all won there.

I am very proud of you all, good comments by all, and now, I would like for everyone to post on both threads, let those that said something nice about you, know how you feel.

Thank you all.

I will say thank you for Papaw, I know he would have been thankful and a bit embarrassed.

For me, thank you, I dont really think that of myself, I just know how to be who I am, and if that is coming through, well, there are worse things a man could be... Thank you.

BAW, thank you also for that, I am still getting used to being vulnerable, its not a trait that I have had long, and honestly, It embarrasses me at times, but I have learned this, in the end, life is what it is, and at that time, I needed to be that way, and in doing so, I have become stronger.

Sometimes you have to be torn down, to be rebuilt. I needed a lot of tearing down, and now the rebuilding can begin... Thank you BAW for everything.

CAT, your comments are very true, and has taken time to hit there mark I know. I still fight that really. I see so much pain and hurt surrounding me all the time, everytime I get up, I knocked down harder..

BUT I have to admit this, thanks to you ladies and a great big thank you to BV, TANK, SGT and few others, I keep getting up, when I was at my lowest, I felt like dieing, wanted it, begged for it, screamed for it, but I would come here and read the kind words and when it was time, my bros took me aside and slapped the shnit out of me, here and in the real world.

Sometimes, you need comfort, and sometimes, when the time is right, you need some tough love. I got both here, and for that, I thank you all. ALL of you..

Without Andy, his last words to me were something that I shared with only one other, and it will remain so...

But Andy called me a few days before he died, and though I didnt know it then, he knew it was his last time with me.. I wish I hadnt been so down and could have heard it and understood him then, but he was saying goodbye in his own way, which is why It hurt so much.

My own pain, got in the way of saying goodbye to a dear friend.

HE passed the torch so to speak to someone else, and I have become very close with that person and owe more than I can every repay.

I have been lied on, put down, and expected to cave in, and maybe I did, but I got up sooner or later....

Today, I am a new me, and for that I owe you all big time..

Thank you all.
