Message From Miltary.com
Thank you for being one of our most valued members at Military.com. We need to notify you of a change in the Military.com e-mail service. As of June 30, 2009, Military.com e-mail will be discontinued. That means all Military.com e-mail addresses will no longer function. Please retrieve any important information prior to June 30th, 2009. We apologize for an inconvenience and hope you continue to enjoy Military.com. Respectfully, The Military.com Team All right! I just came on and did what I do most mornings, I open my e-mail. I have been doing this since 2000. Well I got this little message that E-mail service will be going bye bye. My question is, why?! I have all of my e-mail sent to "sgtbjh@military.com". If I have to reset my password for my AKO because the temp is always sent here. Heck! I concider the unofficial AKO. Is this somemore stuff bought on because it doesn't make money for the civie sect?!I guess it is just one more move to get rid of the "Old farts". Don't take the E-mail away! |

Belgium? A GSU? Were you a Det CC? I tried for awhile to get to that part of Europe - never made it. I have a lot of heritage around that part of the world.
Yeah, I was just pokin' at you and the email thing (you already knew that though). It's too bad when you find kind of a second home and you have nursed it to maturity and then big daddy (the forum admin) decides to "pull the plug" on a certain useful item without asking how its member feels about it (especially when its member made the forum what it is). Personally, I feel as though the powers that be at Military.com is letting its members down by eliminating this worthy option. Again, personally... I don't believe they really care one way or another. After all, it's the advertisers that gives them revenue. It's just the "little guys and gals" that made it possible. |

Barry ~ this doesn’t fix your complaint but I hope it ‘cheers you up'.
The Ross Sisters (1944) I don't think many, if any, of you will remember the Ross Sisters who were popular in 1944. Their act gets better as it progresses and you will be amazed at how the sisters exit the stage at the end of their performance. http://thefunnypage.com/potato-sisters/ choose joy each day |

Their singing style reminds me of Betty Hutton, but I don't think I have seen anyone bend like that! Thank you but, I am upset with this latest change of "our" military.com. It is all about money!

Yeah I kind of hated that too.
I relied on my mil.com for an address outside of the work address. But I do have another one on another site, so I'll switch to that one. I'm not real up on things... have you heard WHY they made this move? I know I was getting a lot of bogus emails, so I won't miss those. Reckon they will reinstate it again at a later date? Or.... heaven forbid... this wouldn't be the beginnings of shutting the place down? |

No, if you have a birch let it out! I have one. Have any of you heard of the "Entertainment tax act"? It seem that the music industry wants a bail out too. Now when you think of "music industry" think of all of those companies like Sony and the rest of the out of country companies and our money going too. From what I have heard the local stations would be taxed in addition to what they already for each record they play. To me it sounds like a form of radio they have in Europe. |

Hadn't heard about the radio thing. Dang, we won't be able to let a fart without there being a tax on it. |

Barry- Rob is not only the FA(Forums Administrator) of these boards, but he is also a Police Officer. Given this, not unreasonable that you have not received a response.
My understanding that the Mil.com email system not directly tied to the forums. This is something that head office has decided to cut out. Suggest you email "head office" with your concerns, about mil.com email system. |

Thanks Piper, I got a reply from Rob today and he is sending the letter to the higherups. I sent a very nice, professional letter, I even used my Oh-fish-al signature block. Piper you know I do nice I'm great at doing nice!
I just had to use the cat to bring levity to the situation. No use getting wrapped around the axle now is there? |
