A Smith and Wesson Ladysmith, which is a nice little hand gun that fits my hand perfectly. Used to have a double barrel shotgun, but it was a bit unwieldy, I like the hand gun better.

Hey BAW, I looked at the Taurus, but my Vet buddy said there not very good. YOU like yours okay??

He is of the mind that what the military carries is pretty good, and checked out very well..

HE wouldnt let me buy one even though it would have saved me 150 b***s... LOL

I plan on getting more once I get some time and more rounds down range.

I am going today to fire this one for the first time..

I have about 500 rounds, think I need more.. That should do it.. LOL

HEY CAT, dont like shotguns, but I am deadly with a rifle.. Must have inherited my dads knack for it, I have hit a pretty small target several times in a row with iron sites off of a single shot 22 that hasnt been zeroed in for over 20 years..

OLD rusty and still accurate. LOL

That or I am just one l***y ******.

I actually like mine Ray. It's fairly light, I'm accurate, and the trigger isn't heavy for me.
I need something that has an easier trigger than the .357 I had. The arthritis in my hands gets to me after a bit with the .357, but not so with the 9mm. Smile

I shoot better with it than Bobby does. Wink
He's the Rifleman, not a handgun man....I think he just needs more practice on it. Wink

Thats cool, I think some of it is choice. Hey they look cool too.. LOL

Yeah, I am hoping to get alot of practice today with mine..

I love rifles, I have never fired a really powerful rifle though, you would think coming from a long line of hunters I would, but after Johnny was killed in Nam, they all kept hunting but the joy of guns stopped.

They hunt, then put them up, they dont take them out to just shoot anymore, and my dad stopped hunting all together, so I never shot when growing up.. But I love it, its like trying to hit that perfect shot and not quit getting it, but so close you have to keep trying.

My friend Cindy and her husband are NRA members. She has a permit to carry a gun and has a really beautiful leather purse that will accomodate her firearm. I guess I ought to hang out with her more, go to the firing range and practice some.

But really, just having a gun in the house makes me feel better. I don't understand people who don't want anything to do with guns. What would they do if someone broke in their house? I mean, chances are, they could get out of the house or something, but how do you know?

Just one for now. I have a Glock .40, mod 23.

I'd like to get an AR-15 or something like that in the near future.

NRA does a wonderful job protecting our 2nd Amendment; support them!!

Go to the range; if you have a power-tool, know how to use it.

Cat ~ if you are interested in carrying they make a lot of different holsters for different parts of your body so you can dress to carry! (IMO) The purse/holsters are a “nice idea” but your purse can be stolen. . .just food for thought.

My main carry is the NAA Guardian .32ACP. It’s small and lightweight. But it depends on where I’m going; say if I’m running the dogs on the state game lands then it’s the SIG P232, it’s a small 9mm. No safety on the SIG though. Revolvers are my choice for the target/range and true love.

I am a fan of weapons. Especially those used on the other side of the conflict.

The rifles, from top to bottom, are: AK-47 (actually a Bulgarian SAM-7S), PSL (aka SSG-97) and a Yugoslav SKS that I got still in the cosmoline, complete with log book from the Yugoslav National Army. Smile

The pistols, from left to right: S&W Model 356 .357 Magnum, Norinco 208 9mm, .25 auto and a .380. I have a Beretta 92S, but it didn't make the photo op. Big Grin

Went shooting yesterday again, with my Vet buddy, showed me some more tips, I have to say, 3 times I have shot now, over 1000 rounds, and I am center mass most of the time..

Out of 500 rounds yesterday, only missed center mass about 100 times, even most of those were at least hits..

So, gonna reload this week on ammo, were going to the range again saturday. This time with several Vets, there all bringing so many differnet weapons..

OH got to watch a guy fire off several hundred rounds of a AK-47.. Very cool... Fire my first revolver too, 357 Mag, with very heavy loads..

Did pretty good with that too..

I think I found me a new hobby, riding and shooting?? OH yeah..

OC, while the thought of having a gun in the home reassures me when it comes to thinking of a robber, it does not when I start thinking of my kids and if somehow they managed to get a hold of it. Or one of their friends got a hold of it. That is the reason why there will not be any in my home as long as their are kids or grandkids. I am more worried about my kids getting hurt by accident than by a person robbing us. Besides I know how to use a bat, a knife, or heck, even a lamp. Big Grin

This is strictly my opinion in why I don't and won't have a gun in the home.

For God's sake keep them away from pools. Check the statistics on that one.

That's why we have the keys to the gun on us, a safe, and the safety is on the gun. Oh, and the clip is loaded but not engaged.

It took me a long time to come around to the idea of having a gun in the house....should have seen the look on the kids' faces though...lol....priceless! Big Grin
