I’m a quote junkie; I love & collect quotes. Back in the 80’s I was experiencing a “ruff patch in life”. I would collect inspiring quotes and once a month, I’d assemble them into booklets for all who contributed. (at the time I was working in a printshop and had the resources). Unfortunately I “loaned” a year’s worth of the collection to someone and never saw them again. . .

Well, my dad used to say, "Save your money. Your money will be your friend when you don't have any friends."

Sister #2 said, "Nobody has a lick of sense until they turn 30" and "Never brag about yourself or your possessions."

The greatest one from my mom was when I was eyeing a married man (hey, I knew him first). She says, "You can't build happiness on some one else's unhappiness."

My grandpa always said, "Every tub sits on its own bottom."

And then my GREAT grandfather (and you have to imagine the German accent here, as he was an immigrant in 1865) said, "Birds wid one fedder flocks by demselves."

My OTHER great grandfather (who live to 97) said, "Never pass up the prunes; they're better than medicine."

When I worked as a piping designer in an oil refinery, there was a lot of backstabbing and criticism from folks who thought that would get them ahead in their jobs.

There was one middle aged pipefitter/designer there who wasn't at all like that; his work was always very reliable and correct, and he was held in great respect by all.

The finest advice I ever heard from him was: "EVERYBODY makes mistakes. The only people who don't make mistakes?.... are the ones who aren't doing anything!"

To counter the "Greed is good" philosophy so prevalent in our country now?.... my mom says, "They need to make a LIVING, not a KILLING"

This whole country is full of GREEDY people. I am content to have just enough to get by. Some people live WAY beyond their means and think that they have to have all the money in the world.

GREEDY BAST****.

I recently heard on the news that Illinois is trying to pass a bill/law to make prison inmates pay for their toilet paper. . .HELLLLLOOOOOOOOOOO??? I’m a law abiding citizen and I PAY for my own TP
