After boot camp I come home for 2 months then I'm off to "A" school.

I will complete my edu and start drilling end of Jan.

I want to enroll in a local Criminal Justice Academy so I can become state certified in Law Enforcement.

Will the USCG GI Bill help with tuition? Approx. $3000 for the course. Since the course is pretty much full time (M - Thrs, 0600 - 1500) will the GI Bill help with living expenses?

It probably depends on the state you are in.

Illinois had a program a few years ago allowing folks to pay for their Police Academy training.

Prior to that, and now since then, you cannot pay your way through an Academy in Illinois, you have to be sponsored by a Police Department to even attend any of the statewide Academies.

You want to do this while in the CG? not sure if you can make it happen but if you think you can it may be under the realm of vocational training. you cannot use your GI bill unless you have completed 2 years of active duty, see your ESO if you wish to do this. you need to check the VA website to ensure that your Police training is listed there, if not you'll have to get it approved by the VA and this can take some time and there is no guarantee. you'll be reimbursed for the training if approved and it cuts time off your gibill benefit. Follow up with your ESO and the VA for more information. Use the ESO as your first stop.

Joshua, -771 mentioned "drilling", meaning SELRES Reservist.

Why he/she is no longer a member of Milcom is their choice. It happens, people pop in, ask a question, then pop out.

How's DC?
