After staying home to raise my three children I have decided it's time to go back school Smile. I was hoping someone could tell me what the CG (or other branches) offers regarding financial assistance/T.A. for spouses, what you personally have found works or worked best for you etc. Any info would be appreciated. Tks.

At this time.......possibly something in the future though.

However, if you do some research, there are several scholarship programs that are geared towards dependents. They will not cover the full cost but every bit helps.

Good Luck!

I think this is still funded...

The Coast Guard was the first, and only service to fund CLEP and DANTES college level exams for spouses. Depending upon the acceptance policies of your college, you could knock out a few courses saving time and money.

Most all Military education programs exist to support the Active Duty or Reserve member. This one is the exception.

Contact your Education Services Officer(ESO). They have many resources at their disposal. Also, much of this can be researched on the web. Google "DANTES."

Good hunting!

You can also get a mutual assistance grant for books, up to a certain amount each year. It's not much but it helps.
