I was looking for contact info for requesting an update to my college credits at the CG Institute. I am retired, but would like to get an update to see where I stand.
Also curious about latest on transferring new GI Bill to dependents...any rumors? Last I saw on internet was Army was only service allowing it. Thank Ya'll in advance for info
1F, For your Coast Guard credit to be evaluated first you need to complete an assessment through CGI (http://www.uscg.mil/hq/CGI/ve/assessment.asp). Once that is done you can get your service evaluated for credits using the link on that same page.
So far as using the GI Bill for use with dependents the word on the street is yes, we will. However this is only if one xfers their GI Bill over to the Post 9/11 GI Bill. I don't know how that will work with one who is retired. Check out the VA's site (http://www.gibill.va.gov/).
I would like the contact info on this, (at the Institute please), I found the form and can complete it, but is there a phone or email number for a human to ask questions of?? Or who to send it to? As far as transferring benefits to dependents......I guess us that have retired are out of luck???? You have to be on Active Duty?? Thanks in Advance for info.
