As any CLEP-er will tell you, the tests are very broad. DO a google search on your question, many answers there. Also- the GROUP/SECTOR ESOs usually have some decent ones to lend ya for free. I passed a couple CLEPs using free study guides that my ESO hooked me up with.

Use soople.com, find course presentations that profs from other schools post online, and use it as a baseline to get started.

Find the most recent textbook for the subject you are testing out of, and use the CLEP website for a breakdown of topics on the test.

Then, get reading!

At your first opportunity, see your ESO and/or CDA for counseling. You are also able to go online and register with "http://www.petersons.com/dod/". They are sponsored through the CG Institute and have online study guides to ALL the CLEP (29) and DSST (37) exams. That is approximately a total of 213 Credit Hours that you could possibly test out of. If you go to the CG Central Units > Organizational Information > Initiatives and Project Information > SMS, ESO and College Graduates Lists, you can find a list of ESO’s in your area. If you need help contacting your CDA, shoot me an email, I am in global and can point you to your unit's CDA.

I've never been to this site, but I just registered with them and that is a great site!! CLEP info/study and practice tests...resume builders....DANTES....grant info....etc etc.

If you haven't been to this site yet, do it NOW!

Thanks for the link!

For a book based study guide you will not find a better source than REA. Search for them on Amazon. They are known for being the most closely related test and material to the actual CLEP. There are several practice tests in every book. The Petersens exams are an excellent resource and are actually harder than the actual tests. If you can get a 60 or above on a Petersens, you are more than ready. There are several online study sources including "instacert.com" which is a pay website that MANY people use to pass. The study material is in fill in the blank format not multiple choice so you retain the material better. $20 a month for unlimited access but a 30 day trial with no strings attached if you don't like it. I have used it for several tests and it is spot on, but I do not like fill in the blank. Search in CG Central for "CLEP" and ALL of the official study guides in PDF will pop up. They will have the basic stuff on the tests, but the REA books will be better. I have passed more CLEPs in the last few months than I can count......

This link leads to Navy Knowledge Online NKO which is a great resource. Once in, select the learning tab then look for the Peterson's link. Contains CLEP and Dantes study guides and practice tests.

FFJ Cool Cool
