Looking for anyone who applied for this program. I am looking into DCE, but the information that I can find about it is slim at best. Checked outh the Coast Guard Recruiting site, but that too was not much help. Any input from those who have BTDT would be appreciated!

You may want to post your question on the Recruiter's Desk forum here.

I have unsuceesfully applied. Do you have questions about the process or how to suceed. I obviously know more about the former than the latter.

Here are the two links I have used to get info. The first is general info on the DCE program and the second is forms/deadlines.

So I've decided this is the route I want to go. I'm a nonrate right now, with 4 years prior navy service. I want to go to school for ET, work on my associates in engineering until I make E-5 then apply for the DCE program. Is this the way to do it? Is it competitive? and what do I need to do to make sure that it happens?

Have you thought about applying for PPEP?

They would send you for your bachelors degree and pay you while you do it and than later send you to OCS. Thats if you were interested in more education benefits. If you are going to apply DCE you should apply for OCS at the same time; makes your chances better! I have done some research on the DCE program because my Husband is a year away from graduating with his bachelors in EE and he is currently a reserve ET2 with 4 years prior active cg time. I think its a great opportunity! Your plan sounds solid to me. I know the competition is tough though but like I said, Don't rule out other opportunities like ppep and regular OCS!

The other Commissioning programs are great but DCE is the only program that has an age window up to 43.

That's what my only problem is, I'm 31 right now so I think I have to stay with the DCE
