How difficult is it to go to college while on active duty? Is it do-able?

It depends on your duty schedule. I finished my nursing degree my last 3 years on active duty. But I was an HSC and stood duty once or twice a month.

two Associates, one BS and a Masters on AD; it all depends on planning, being realistic and a lot depends on where you're stationed at. Much easier ashore than afloat.

It's VERY doable, it's all about your motivation. I'm on a Cutter completing online courses. As long as you have connectivety, your good to go.

Just stay within your limits and start knocking the requirements out a little at a time. Before you know it, you'll be done. But, starting is the key.

As a non-rate it will be very difficult to go to college. Once you have a direction and your settled and you have some qualifications life will get alot easier for you. I need 5 more classes for my Associates and its going alot better than I thought.

Focus on Cleps, Dantes and other testable credit sources when underway or on a onerous duty schedule; when available take some local classes or online classes; put your tuition assistance request in early and often. You will succeed.

Ged; As; BA; JD in 15 years active duty; all tours operational except the last one.

I'm working on it right now. I am using Coastline community college for my Gen ed. I just applied for their "pocket ed" program. No internet required. 12 week to complete the course. Full support.
