Hello fellow EM's, I am currently at a Navy C school and the instructor asked what are the general steps to troubleshooting...well the Navy guys and myself couldn't remember...so I am asking for help.
The topic is now well over however I am trying to put some notes together. Here is what I remember...

1. Know proper operation.
2??

Thanks for the help.

I know I have seen this same type of post a while back but i was unable to find it. I think everyone has there own methods of trouble shooting. Of course knowing normal operation is important but also know when the last time the system was PM'd is important also. It seams like someone always forgets to turn something back on or connect a wire after conducting PMS.
Besides that I would open up the drawing and test for voltage. I guess I am a little confused on why the class was only able to come up with one step?

I'm sure theres a million variations of basically the same steps.

1. Know proper operation
2. Check the setup
3. Calculate and measure
4. Correct fault and verify the result

Hope thats helpful.
