Well i can tell you 378's do 90 day patrols and the 270's do 60 day patrols. All cutters seem to have a schedule of 180+ days away from homeport each year. Hope this helps.

Yeah, Crusty's right. Expect to be gone about half the year. Alternating usually between about 90 days underway then 90 days inport for a 378 or for 60 days on a 270 or 210. If you're looking for info on the polars, I've never been on one.

Really, as long as you set your family for success, it's not that bad.

Also, I think they give out an actual list of the different types of cutters and their endurances in boot camp now. Try getting with a non rate who hasn't already burned everything they got in Cape May.

I'm glad someone else had that list! I've been looking for a copy everywhere. If anyone finds it's location can you post the link? Or be a real pal and scan it and post it for download?

POLAR SEA averages about 155 days a year underway, all at one shot. STAR is a hood ornament over at the pier. I couldn't really say about HEALY

Not to sure, but I think you're High Endurance Cutters do 286 Days Plus. I've done 88 day patrols on both my 270's.

look up CI 3100.5(series) on the intranet and you will find your answer regarding how many days a year Cutters are expected to be away from homeport.
