TVC John,

First wikipedia sucks as a source.

Second, I did not address body count numbers just identities.

Hooligan hates facts that are provided by an entity that continously updates itself....

I agree, some of it can be suspect. That post wasn't a shot at you, it was for general info. The person listed his sources (Govt) and that appeared to have some credibility to it.

Once again your fibbing tongue wags in the breeze. I love sources that are updated but not by every Tom, Dick and Scrounge on the internet. I could go into wikipedia right now and change the entire section on Vietnam and it will remain for at least 24 hours.

Sorry Grasshopper, you lose again.

Again you lie in order to make your flaccid point. It has nothing to do with agreement and everything to do with veracity. I realize veracity is contrary to your modus operandi but it is veracity which is important nonetheless.

What you call a lie (so generous with your accusations)...I call an opinion.

I think that old adage goes "Lies ... damn lies ... and opinion".

Sadly you believe they are the same thing. More's the pity.

"I mean no disrepect for the fighting forces in Vietnam. I was of their era and served during the period and buried many a good friend."

If you meant no disrespect for the fighting forces in Vietnam then I have no problem with your statement. I also lost some friends during the war, in fact the best friend I have ever had died when the USS Westchester County was mined in 1968.

I am well aware that both the Johnson & Nixon Administration left much to be desired by their actions during the war. However I feel that most Americans served with honor and deserved better than they received when they came home. It has been a long time but some things are hard to forget.

Now back on the topic of this post. I agree that Kevin James should have done a little research and he might have been able to back up his statement. Chamberlain was an Appeaser but Britians military was so weak he had no choice. To show how little respect Hitler had for Chamberlain or Britian it was only a year or so after the Munich Agreement was signed that Britian was at war with Germany. I just hope we never have a President trying to negotiate from a position that weak.

Bama,

One of the guys I rode to school with every day was killed in October of 1970 on the same day his daughter was born. We were from a very small town which has since grown and Joe was the third and not the last to die in Vietnam. He was one of many friends who are written on the Wall.

Thank you for recognizing my intent was to address the political issues and not the warriors that carried out the mission. It is important to me that it be understood.

Fear not...I saved that little quote for future use when he gets on a rant about "our liberties being discarded"..... as we fight terror without the wall of separation.

Tman,

Actually progress has been made despite the Bush Administration. Let's remember that I did not bring this up. However, what is the track record of the Bush Administration funding the Domestic War on Terror? Do a little reading and let me know how you feel about shrinking LE budgets and reduced counter terrorism funding since 9/11.

This should get Scrounge into full swing defending his fearless leader despite all evidence to the contrary.

Scrounge,

The Wall of Separation was largely a myth and was misused by politicians on both sides of the aisle. If you were ever to read beyond the headlines and the party lines you might actually understand some of the issues you so freely debate.

The so-called Wall of Separation simply kept the CIA and others from going off shore and violating the rights of individuals who would be adjudicated in the U.S. It had little or nothing to do with the intelligence failures leading up to 9/11.

I do realize that your opinion and common sense overrule evidence and logic. Nonetheless, your Wall of Separation was really a wall of rhetoric.

Scrounge,

The Wall of Separation was largely a myth and was misused by politicians on both sides of the aisle. It's because of what I have read that I understand how the wall of separation had hindering intelligence sharing....You might have read up on it, but I would say you did with a pre-conceived notion and most likely from a liberal blog or web site... If you were ever to read beyond the headlines and the party lines you might actually understand some of the issues you so freely debate. Try that advice some time.

The so-called Wall of Separation simply kept the CIA and others from going off shore and violating the rights of individuals who would be adjudicated in the U.S. It had little or nothing to do with the intelligence failures leading up to 9/11. Removing this limitation did have everything to do with our renewed ability to protect against planned attacks, plans we did thwart

I do realize that your opinion and common sense overrule evidence and logic. Nonetheless, your Wall of Separation was really a wall of rhetoric. Your arrogant and pompous nature precludes you from recognizing anything that might prove this administration has been working to protect the nation....your loss
