Meat! Yes ladies and gentlemen, meat. Stand by for a multi-pronged assault on delicious burgers, steak, pork chops, and veal. Our fellow citizens on the left are gearing up to attack the production and consuption of meat on several levels. Factory farms are an easy target with animals confined from birth to slaughter. Growth hormones - what are Americans eating? What will be the long-term effects of these additives to our diets? Ecology - raising meat is inefficient. Energy and resources are being squandered. Health - meat consumption can be dangerous. Once Obamacare becomes the law of the land, consumption of meat will be an anti-social act because all health costs must be borne by the State.

No, it was creating world peace by apologizing to foreign countries for the US being the bad guys. Wink

Based on this, in part, I don't see the Obama Administration banning meat any time soon:

I suggest on the way back from stocking up at the gun store (before they try to take your guns away) you stop by a farm and buy cows, chickens and pigs to keep in your basement. That way when the gubment closes all those farms you're sitting on a meat gold mine.

Let me get this straight...

Do as I say, not as I do...

We know what's best for you...

You need a government agency to handle this for you...

Are you telling me these are not Libbie manifesto teachings?

Next thing you'll be saying is that the libbies brought a measure to the floor stating the House and Senate should have to accept a government health care plan along with the people.

You scoff, but banning smoking in bars, bowling alleys, and now parks sounded like crazy talk a decade or two ago. They are coming for your Oreo's already, and meat is the next target. I hate to admit listening to NPR, I only do it for opposition research purposes, but they were interviewing some Academic nut that claimed something to the effect that meat consumption is the leading cause of global warming, and should be banned.

If the government can require you to pay for other peoples health care, turn smokers into evil burdens on society, and launch a war on transfats, what makes you think they won't go after meat next?

The Kos Kids & the Huff Po folks are all over meat. Carnivores and Fatties are the new smokers in the eyes of the sturm abteilung of the left.

The POTUS used to be a smoker. Hell hath no fury like a convert. See Mayor Bloomberg for that.
/OT - You know who was both a vegetarian and hated smokers.

Heck, they've convinced the a lot of sheople that carbon dioxide, the stuff that make soda fizzy, the stuff humans and other animals exhale, is a pollutant, and launched a war on energy. Also, a war on soda. But you don't think they will go after meat?

This is just crazy talk. Next you will be claiming things like the government wants to control the oil they fry food in. Or cigar bars create a smoke hazard for the workers and will be closed. Crazy talk I tell you! Eek
