I haven't posted on the Forum in a very long time, either, so I guess I'll add something here. My name is Keith, but you can call me whatever derivative of my user name you wish. I am on the Left side of the spectrum here. I'm one of those ypical Former-Marine, Ex-Coastie, long-haired hippie type commie liberal types. Well, except for the long hair. I'm not sure how long I'm staying on the Forum this time. I left it because the arguments against some of my points had gotten too silly. I hadn't planned on coming back, but I decided to, on a whim. I guess it's because I just missed SCROUNGE too much.

I'm the scrounge (I earned that name because I was the guy that could get things...back then it didn't matter to me if it was by breakling a few rules)...You can call me Eddie.

I'm a conservative, small business owner, white male, Christian...So I'm used to being of the (several, pick one) persuasion where it's still not considered bigotry to insult me for what I am....Be that white, male, conservative or Christian.

I wil stand behind those that have conviction for their beliefs, that understand the enemy is not part of the US, be it a citizen or a US representative. I believe the war on terror is as important as any war in our history, and probably the most dificult.

I don't mind dissent unless it's simply for the sake of dissent....I especially get a kick out dissentors that seem to lack tolerance for those that disagree and dissent against their ideals and complaints.

I'm Bill. Retired CG. I'm a political moderate but tend to tilt to the right. I returned to my roots, farming, and am trying to resurrect a Missouri Ozark farm which had lain idle for 50 years after my dad died. I have a fledgling herd of black angus cattle. I get my name from my hobby of playing my tuba in volunteer community bands and small brass ensembles.

I'm Don. Served in the USCG from 82-88, then went to U.S. Customs boats for 17 yrs.

I have two sons, 20 and almost 14, that I am super proud of. The older one is a U.S. Marine with the Amphibious Assault Vehicles.

I like to think of this site as similar to sitting around an E-club and swapping stories.

Conservative and bullheaded....ya think? Wink

I try to keep things humorous but some discussions get me fired up and I may say things that I later regret. It's the Irish in me I guess. Maybe it's more out of frustration at being forced into a Disability Retirement. Idiot here managed to get run over by a Black Hawk back in '04. Man oh man, do I miss working with all the LEO's of all the agencies in South Florida, especially my last group of guys in Clearwater.

here's a photo of my youngest brother and I. I am very proud of him, he's still in the CG.

My name is Brian and I'm about to retire after 25 years in the USCG. Originally from the Pittsburgh area I currently reside in the Peoples Republic of Massachusetts (also known as Liberal Land). If you are gay, on public assitance, or an illegal alien, this is the place to be. We (the middle class) work hard to love and support you! Razz

Mazski9 comes from my childhood baseball hero Bill Mazeroski and I still wear his number 9 when playing softball. Folks around here think it's for Ted Williams. I think not though I do follow the Red Sox.

As a kid and a conservative republican I got beat up a lot growing up in Pittsburgh, especially by my family. Now as an adult, I come here (Fred's Place) to get beat up by the left wing liberals. It reminds me so much of home. Cool

Finally, I support the POTUS regardless of political affiliation, even though I may not agree with their actions. I'm Christian and, get this, consider SCROUNGE resonable, intelligent, and closly relecting my views. Yet he's the only man I've ever known to go a bit to far RIGHT of my position. Eek

Go Penguins!!! Applause Beer

Maz,

When you pull the plug I'd be happy to hoist one with you anywhere anytime to celebrate your service.

Now about number 9 . . . Smile

That would be awesome! Do you know of any place up here where we could get some Iron City Light (IC Light) beer? One would think between the unionist of our two fair cities we could. All I want when I retire is a twelve pack. Wink

Retired after 22 years of faithful CG service
Overtaxed small business owner who is tired of paperwork and governmental policies
Politically I am a Radical Independent (I don’t care what you do, leave me alone)
I believe that we must support and defend those incapable of doing it for themselves and that includes the unborn.
I find waste in a lot of what the government does and believe politicians have lost sight as to what is important and instead focus on their own party and career
Find it hypocritical that someone can be imprisoned for killing unborn endangered species while society approves of the killing over 1million unborn Americans annually
I believe that folks should be able to do what they want as long as they harm no one else. Screw helmet laws… screw seatbelt laws… screw illegal drugs… inject steroids if you want… I want to eat transfats… so leave me alone if I want to smoke, drink, etc… It’s my life, let me live it!
I believe that the senate has more important things to worry about more than steroids and Spygate
Got a wonderful wife and two great kids (both college graduates)… I am blessed in the family category!

And strangely, I like guys like Lokie and Meat and Soc and Sac and Scrounge and even Hooligan! (sorry Pat!) Big Grin

I am Tony, I served Active in the CG for 10 years. Spent 2 years on a 180 in AK, 2 yrs at Station Mobile, 2 years a MSO Mobile, 2 years as the XPO of ANT Hono, and 2 years as the 1st Lt on a 110. I left with 27 awards and Medals. Had a blast, but one crappy CO, and a well timed job offer made my decision to get out. I am now an Acting OEM Manager, a title I have had for 18 months. I did a decent enough job they decided not to hire anyone else.

I have 4 kids, one on the way, and no clue how that keeps happening. You will have no doubt where I stand on an issue. I am probably one of the most easy going people you will ever meet and have very few enemies. I find that people who dont like me are usually sub par performers. It takes me a long time to get pissed off and very few people have ever managed to do so. Those that have quickly found that I will come out of the corner like a freight train.

I read constantly, collect firearms, enjoy politics, and I am in line for a nice promotion that I am on the fence about applying for.
