Hooligan,

Yes, very much divided! As I've said in other post and pointing out the obvious, if Obama gets the nominatioin most of the Clinton suporters will vote for McCain and vise versa. We will see in November and I'd be willing to put some beer on it. What do you say, a case of your favorite against a case of mine? Beer

In recent speeches I've noticed they both have been talking nicer about each other and hinting at some possible teamwork no matter who wins??? So if Obama and Hillary plan to unite no matter what the outcome is...it's curious that their supporters feel so strongly that they would vote Republican over the opposing democratic candidate.

I thought even the word Republican would be scary to people after the eight years of Bush...most Americans seemed ready for a Democratic in office.

Normally Democrats who are supporting one Candidate will vote for whichever one wins, even if it's not their candidate, just to keep their vote democratic.

What makes this so different?? Is it a racial thing? Any insight?

I see a lot of hostility from Republicans these days. I wonder if it's because no matter who they vote for in November, it will be a liberal?? Sleep tight! Beer

I'm not a betting man but a case of 15 year old single malt is pretty pricey. Big Grin

I think you assume facts not in evidence. While I am not a Democrat, I believe regardless of the animosity of the present, they unite and defeat McCain not because of McCain but because he supports some failed policies of the current administration.

But you're not a democrat...you just support them and vote for them...and argue for them...and excuse them...Firmly perched upon the fence.

As for the topic at hand, boring. Not the war, the golf BS whining.

Everything is just great, old buddy. Thanks for asking. I see not much, if anything, has changed on the Forum since I was last here. But, I agree with you that this is a bit of a boring topic. Bush is guilty of much worse than lying about a golf game. This is just something to feed the faithful on network television. It's time that could be better spent on something else.

And, militia1 says:

"This is inappropriate and a dumb statement. Murderer=Congressional authorization. I like the relation."

Ah, yes, it was all Congress's idea to lie to the American public about the threat that was Saddam Hussein so that American corporate hegemony could force itself into the Middle East. But, to be fair, given the fact that there was abundance of evidence proving that Bush and Co. were lying, a lot of Democratic Senators and Representatives folded under the pressure, afraid that somehow Bush's Crime in Iraq would somehow work out, and they'd be left with egg on their faces. Their political future meant more to them than the lives of our troops. My hat is off to all those in Congress that voted NO on authorization. Those that voted YES (along with all those among the citizenry who continue to support this travesty) are just as responsible for the unnecessary deaths as Bush and his handlers are.

Again with the presumptions. I have voted a split ticket more often than not. However, I do have standards. Bush didn't make the cut.

I would have been willing to bet the single malt but was looking to not steal your retirement check and bet quality green bottle beer instead. Wink At any rate I do not believe the left will unite and get it together. Going by what I've observed around my area and talking with friends the concences seems to be the same. The choices for the election are: A compulsive lier, a racist, and McCain. I will admitt I was not the biggest fan of McCain but of the three he's definately my choice and choice of many more that I know of. Cool

They keep thinkin' a half white/half black guy harbors a racist attitude and agenda ... talk about lookin' for boogeymen.

Seems to me he's entitled to say a lotta $hit about a lotta people ... hell, if he had an eighth native american in him, he could cover the spectrum with insults ... sorta like Don Rickles.

I find that so amusing. I'm less than half black...my birthdad is about three quarters since he has one full parent and one half, and my birthmom is white. I find it soo amusing that people will say racist things in front of me, racist people will treat me like I'm your average white person, never do I get treated differently, all because my skin is pale. I know people who have quite dark skin who have the same amount of blood as me...who get the full racist treatment from the more thickheaded portion of our society!!

I'm in awe how much the shade of ones skin affects people's attitude.

If I was running for president...I could be best friends with Rev. Wright, or be like Hillary and go to him for spiritual help, and no one would comment because you can't tell I'm part black!!

What a joke!

While I am no fan of Bush, are we really getting upset he is playing golf? I think this is a bit of a stretch, even for someone who disaproves of Bush.

Yah, I just don't see it ... like me, I talk a lotta crap about Baptists (why don't Baptists have sex while standing up? People might think they're danncin') ... but of course, I'm a Baptist.

As I've stated before, the only thing I'm wary of is that Obama may harbor hidden agendas. Of course, I guess it's equally likely that he rides with the Klan brothers or the Black Panthers ...

Or neither. Of course, we have to be concerned about anyone that we place in high office, that they really be who they say they are (remember "compassionate conservatism Roll Eyes), but I see no reason for irrational suspicion. If Obama has skeletons in his closet that should make us reconsider any support of him, I'm sure the election process will bear that out.
