Ideal job: Quality control chemist and taste tester at either the Jack Daniel or Maker's Mark distilleries. Barring that, I'll take a position doing the same at the local Budweiser or Ugly Frog breweries. Worst case - same work for either Annie Greensprings or Boone's Farm.

I played in a golf tournament today (1st day of two) after last nights rain. Where is Moses when I need him. I came home to find baby backs on the smoker. She must have been reading ya'lls posts. For the love of salivation!

BBQ'D SALMON

1 medium salmon (preferably King or Red Salmon, 4-6 lbs) Do NOT repeat, do NOT use either Chum or Dog Salmon. Both are trash species and will make a wretched mess.
1 large white onion
1/2 stick of butter (margarine or butter substitutes will only make for a wretched mess)
Juice of 1/2 lemon
2 or 3 cloves of crushed Gilroy Garlic (Garlic imported from China has the taste consistancy of stale cardboard and will only serve to add to a wretched mess)
Salt & lemon pepper to taste

Dehead and thoroughly clean out the gut cavity. shake disired amount of salt & lemon pepper.

Coursly chop the onion and mix in the crushed garlic. Stuff the onion/garlic mixture in the gut cavity.

Melt butter and lemon juice together. Drizzle into onion/garlic mixture.

Wrap stuffed salmon in heavy guage foil that has been lightly sprayed with cooking spray (such as Pam).

Your charcoal should have burned down to the point where there is a light coating of light ash covering the briquettes. If you are using a gas BBQ, quit now because there is no hope for non BBQ purists. Besides, you'll cook up a wretched mess.

Place your grill at about the half-way point above the coals. Not too close but not too far.

Cook your salmon 30 minutes on each side. Don't worry about the butter dripping out of the fish. The smoke will add flavor to the fish.

After the salmon is done cooking, place on a chopping board and serve along with the cooked onion/garlic mixture. Just pull pieces off the carcas. No need for neat slices.

Enjoy! Cool

Cool Fishing mark...sounds good.

I don't have a fly rod ..but i do have 2 pocketfishermans..i might just do a little fishing.

finished my run/walk and then went to a luhau over at the local golf club...my father in laws is a member..and likes those social fuctions..and so do i ..kinda nice..definately different from tastes but everyone was nice..and money was raised for the country club.

no i won't be joining..but i,ll attend when invited...If i joined it would be sorta like ..putting a outhouse in a elevator...( barrowed that line from Roadhouse with sam elliot, terry funk and patrick swazie man,s movie.)

Many believe you can't eat Carp..But I think this recipe does them justice.

Clean the fish (clear the cavity and scrape out all the black goo stuck up in between the spine bones)...leaving the head and tail on

Pre heat oven to 375

Use a fish board...hard wood is best, you can use cedar but it should be at least an inch thick

oil the fish, salt to taste

set fish on board

place in the oven

turn oven up to 550...wait four hours

eat board

That ESCAPE THE GORILLA AD..on the bottom is additting...Well woke up this morning to a BIG rain storm..we had a tornado watch for a while and then it headed east toward Wray .

Lot's of rain we needed it ..the pond and the bird bath and the vehicles are all good now.

If i would known in advance i would have smeared some soap on the truck and the stationwagon..and let mother nature work.

watched cops and america's most wanted last night and george stephonopgus this morning..now i will be doing my daily walk/run...soon.

Did 4 miles yesterday and will try to do the same today...not all at once .

tonight i am planning to watch pbs the migration of the logger head turtle..from mexico to japan..and taping desparate housewives and brothers and sisters to watch at a later date..as it comes on during my nappy time.

Guess I'll try to watch the race (if the cloud cover doesn't mess up my sat dish) then work on a couple of people's taxes. I'll follow that up with a rip-roaring time writing a college paper and some lesson plans. Glad tomorrow is a "holiday", at least for our school. Cool

Opening day/weekend for trout in vermont and it was snowing most of the saturday and all day sunday with more expected over night into monday afternoon. I would be surprised if a single fish was caught all weekend in the streams which are running very high, fast and cold. The skiing was fantastic at Killington with light powder saturday morning, it got a little heavy as it warmed in the afternoon and it snowed all day on sunday with 18" of new snow in the woods. Great tree skiiing. Hope everyone had a nice weekend.
Its going to be a very tough day on the runners as they are going to battle heavy head winds and rain most of the day. Predicting record no shows and people that won't finish. Cancelled the parade in my town and a buss of Michigan Regulars Militia was seen leaving town very early for the trip back to michigan. Frown

Beautiful bright sunny day in boston. Skiing was fabulous at The Cat saturday with temp reaching high sixties low seveties. Playin Dead did a great show last night in Waltham. Lots of pretty girls and freaks in the crowd.
Not that many showed for sunday tennis, no girls which is always a bummer. Lots of yard work planned and the kids are having a water fight in the back yard right now. Living for the weekends.
Be well, Cool

Cool Nice sunny but cool day..here in the sunshine state..today i changed the oil..in my motorbike..and then dropped by to see my favorite shadetree mech (yes there are still some shadetree mech..outthere)and good friend charley...now charley works on everything i,ve known him for 7yrs now..and he is telling me about a 94 ford taurus he will be selling as soon as he fixes the steering..he wants 900.00 dollars for it..

I Believe i may by it. my mom had a 95 ford taurus and it is running good today..my sister has it now..mom bought it new..hopefully it will last untill the my house is paid off ..3yrs from now.

I did a little googling and found a fordtaurusclub
never knew gm dubbed it the jellybean Big Grin the one i am looking at is green like my moms...once the house is paid off the xo wants a honda odysee mini van..so instead of house payments i,ll be making van payments..
