I am just interested in seeing who people plan to vote for in this election whether it McCain vs. Obama or McCain vs. Clinton.

Question:
Who are you going to vote for this 2008 election.

Choices:
Obama
Clinton
McCain

None of the above. Ill be writing in. I refuse to vote for "The lesser of two evils." Voting for the lesser of two evils accomplishes nothing.

Actually, it reduces the chance of being stuck with the more evil.

I guess the memory of the disaster brought on by a few votes for H. Ross Perot has already faded from memory. Confused

I'm writing in Mitt Romney as he, IMHO, was the only one running in both parties that could have done something positive for our country. And I don't look at it as a wasted vote since any one of the three stooges running now are going to make things worse, not better.

The bottom line is to vote! I will not discuss politics with anyone that doesn't cast ballot and as far as I'm concerned, they forfiet their right to an opinion if they do not. A lot of American blood has been spilled these past two plus centuries not to exercise the most precious right and opportunity our fallen comrades have given us.

My candidate didn't make the cut. Confused I thought he was still in the running..

But, since you gave three choices, and I picked, I went with the veteran who actually served his country, not the harpee that profited off it.

Our system is broken, bad. Has been for a long time. We need some serious change, more than any of those three can bring. We need a revolution. Gun

Jefferson probably said it best:

quote:
"God forbid we should ever be twenty years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, and always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented, in proportion to the importance of the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty. ... And what country can preserve its liberties, if it's rulers are not warned from time to time, that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to the facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure."

Of course, we don't follow most of his other advice. . . so why pay attention to this one??? Roll Eyes

It still doesnt solve anything. We should not be voting for the lesser of two. Evil is evil no matter how you slice it. Ive done it twice and im not going to do it again.

As for the dems saying Nader stole the election from them i disagree. You cant steal something that was never theirs to begin with. Heck this could be said for any party who thought they lost because of a third party candidate.

Like i said in another thread it doesnt matter who you vote for between McCain/Obama/Clinton. Nothing major is going to change. These three clowns will not be receiving my vote not have they ever been in contention of receiving my vote.

I played paddle tennis last night with a guy who has met all the candidates. He is a big wig (ceo) of a large financial institution and he said that not one of the three people running knowes anything about the present economy, and that all three would say anything to the voting public to get ellected.
He has never seen a more dissapointing group of candidates. It took a lot of coaxing to get this very frank opinion out of him.
As Mark would say, sleep tight.
Peace,
Dick
I would write in Warren Buffet for president.

Yeah the top three are ignorant to the economic issues. I think only Ron Paul and Mitt Romney were knowlegable in this field. What is funny is that the Economy was the major issue for most americans yet they voted for McCain. Pretty amazing if you ask me.

I think that the media is proven wrong again...Yep the economy is a major issue, right after our national security.

It will be different for everybody. For me national security is not a big deal. Our foreign policy and monetary system are my big concerns.

Now that I can definatly agree with! But think about it, those that we "elect" through the electoral college, not the popular vote are the ones that pass the bills into law. Some of those laws benefit only those who make them. Hmmm...

Now, here's another thing to chew on. When ya'll we're doing your taxes, how many of you were asked if you wanted to donate $3.00 to the Presidential Campaign fund? Do you know what that is?? It is federal money dished out to the candidates to assist them with their campaigns. What do I find wrong with this you might ask? Only the fact that some of them, (Congressman, Senators, Governors, etc.) are getting paid a Federal or State salary to do that job, not be out campaigning. We then pay their salary and give them extra money to be away from that job.

Does anyone honestly think that the candidates have been doing 100% of their normal job for the past 10 year? HELL NO, they've been campaigning. And we paid for them to do it.

I'm still on active duty, I couldn't be away from my duty station and out doing something else and expect to get paid for being here. Matter of fact, I'd get punished for it.

I have lots of problems with what goes on in Washington. I have lots of problems with what goes on in the State level too. Top to bottom, we need reform. To get reform we need a revolution.

"Educatio est omnium efficacissima forma rebellionis"
"If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything." Educate yourselves to what goes on... education is the most effective form of rebellion.

Just what do you think Foreign Policy and Monetary System adds up to? They are two of the pillars of National Security!

Evening Tony,

Warren is a trip to watch on TV, he's easy to listen too. I know some folks that live in his neighborhood in Omaha. He was invite to a party in the neighbor hood, an annual event for an excentric older lady that likes to party and he sent an aid to read a letter that stated as much as he wanted to be at this party with friends he was tied up with some business at Camp David. He buys his morning coffee at the McDonalds drive through in town as well on some mornings.
He would make a good write in candidate in my opinion and with some middle america values and common sence.
I think some heavy **** is coming O Barracks way this week about his and his wifes involvement with the slumloard Reese.
Peace and have a great evening,
Dick
