I'm going to guess that guy is from NC not MI. Socialized medicine will reduce health outcomes? True. But, you can't argue with liberals on the facts, good intentions are all that matter.

Ching, liberals do (mostly) have good intentions. Sometimes, however, their goal is to restrict freedom and tell others how to live. But in the healthcare debate, I believe that their intentions are (mostly) good.

He made some good points. I'm sure that he has the best of intentions as well. Somewhere along the line, it needs to be a bipartisan effort to work on this plan. There has to be a middle-ground that can please a majority of the people. It's beyond my intelligence though.

So Canada's cancer survival rate is equal to ours. Cuba has a higher breast cancer survival rate then the U.S. Finland, Switzerland, Japan, Australia, Sweden and Austria are the countries with the lowest rates of cancer deaths per capita. Does that mean that socialized medicine works? Is your truth any stronger than mine? |

Is our wait for an angiogram longer than Canada's? Your bettin your life on this issue... and mine. |

No one is betting your life. If you like your insurance keep it. Or are you saying that the more people that have insurence, the longer you'll have to wait your turn?

I disagree. You get what you (don't) pay for. There are fine examples of nationalized health care and the ridiculous waits for (what is considered to be standards today)standards of care. The public option is a joke. A ruse. After the public option is installed, after it wipes out competition, there will be no returning...Be carefiul, you might just get exactly what you are asking for. |

Not "that the more people that have insurence, the longer you'll have to wait your turn?" It's that the more people that are enrolled in a bureacratic, miss managed, micro managed government QUAGMIRE...The longer the wait for life saving procedures that are almost routine today. I am missing one close friend today, because of a three week wait in Canada (angiogram - telling the doctors the seriousness of the situation)...for a procedure an illegal alien would have gotten - in todays US health system -the night the patient entered the emergency room. No thanks |

For the most part you get what plan your employer gives you, and most people don't have a choice. From what I understand, this mess of a bill doesn't guarantees that you won't be switched by your employer, only that the government won't force you to switch plans. Here's the double edged sword. If the government offers a plan that is cheaper than the private market, then I would think many business owners will switch to that option to save on operating costs thereby negating the claim that you won't have to switch insurance; but if the government offers a plan that is equal in cost or more expensive than the private market, then what is the point of "reform". |

Still rating Canada on a single incident that personally affected you. I guess that's fair. |

Socialized medicine: you mean like the military medical system? And the VA medical system? As Fezik said, I don't think that means what you think it means.

Wouldn't quite call Tri-care Socialized Medicine... It's a privately run insurance company that struck a deal with the military.

Jim's still dead. He's one of many, there are "wonderful" examples right there in front of the libbies faces of nationalized health care, what it does to the health care for individuals...But the sheep keep slogging forward? I'm waiting for the excerpt frpom some libbie politician stating "REALLY, this time a government run program will run efficiently and smoothly, there wiill be no red tape and it will be simplee and precise". What's the definition of a fool again? This time it will work!!! The results will be different... If...everytime you called your dog over, you kicked him in the gut, he learns not to come to you. |

Socialized Medicine HMM. Let's look at other efficient Government run systems, OH wait there are none. A Quick look into a un-certain future, Doctor waiting rooms, think of the last time you went to renew a Auto tag or renew a drivers license last time took 8 solid hours and I had all of the required info
