Comedian George Carlin dies at 71

Wow, another big name goes away. I never got tired of listening to what George Carlin had to say and I'll miss him. To me, he was one of a kind and as my favorite overall comedian it's gonna suck not having his material to laugh at anymore.

I never got into his humor. I would however consider him one of the groundbreaker comedians in the genre. I would put Richard Pryor, Redd Foxx, and Cheech and Chong in that early class also. For some reason I found Pryor funny and not Carlin. Confused

Another guy I couldn't get into was Gallagher and his watermelon smashing routine. Carrot Top is funny.

Ah yes, the Hippy Dippy Weatherman routine. Carlin doing the coked out weatherman who did not read the weather and he goes on while pointing at the map "tonight we will have dark followed by light in the morning. . "

Eek Speaking of things nobody wants to hear, Carlin once said:

"Here's something nobody wants to hear. Nobody wants to hear this. Try to think back to when this was appropriate to your life.

You and your fiancé have been invited to your mom and dad's house for dinner for the first time. Half way through dinner, your fiancé stands up and says, "I'll be right back, I gotta take a dump."

There seems to be no really genteel way of announcing publicly, a dump."

Now that's funny...and true. That was the draw for me. Making light out of some of life's dark moments.

George Carlin was my personal hero, and a hero for all those who stand against corporate and religious control of government, the exploitation of the poor by the rich, social injustice and war. I will very deeply mourn his loss.

My hat is off. My head is bowed. You will be sorely missed, George. There are too few like you.

When I woke up to the news this morning, the passing of George Carlin was on. Not fully awake all I could think of was George’s expression while standing at the “Pearly Gates” “ Wow, didn’t see this one coming” He was a great comedian & entertainer.

I’ll miss George. He could be one of the funniest men on the planet but sometimes he fell into a whining, mean, non-humorous roll. Luckily, whenever I saw that coming out, I could quickly grab the remote and change it to something else.

I loved him in Dogma and I especially loved his early stuff.

George, you will be missed!

Now maybe George can find the answer to one of the biggest mysteries of our time.
"Faddah, if God is all powerful and all mighty, can he make a rock so big that even He Himself can't pick it up? Huh Faddah? Huh Faddah?"

But then, of course, nobody wants to take a dump, even though they say they do. No, they want to leave a dump. Taking a dump would be downright disgusting.

Wow! You have a gift! You somehow managed to take an existing routine of a recently deceased comic, over analyze it, scrubbing all of the humor out of it in the process and all of this on a memorial thread.

Way to go! You're a real hero! Applause

I wonder what else you have a gift for. Confused

Carlin himself simply LOVED people like you.

Seven words you did not want to hear:

George Carlin has died. He was 71.

Hilarious comedian. His facial expressions alone cracked people up. God bless.
