Anyone else participated on that operation? It seems it was one of those forgotten deployments.

I was a member of the 91st Chemical Company, 724 Main Support Battalion, 24th Infantry Division out of Fort Stewart Georgia. Would like to know if anyone else remembers anything out of that mission maybe even have pictures of it.

This is the best description I could find:

VIGILANT WARRIOR Summary:
In late September 1994, Iraq began moving significant numbers of ground forces south of the 32nd parallel towards Kuwait. In response, USCINCCENT deployed forces to the Central Region for Operation VIGILANT WARRIOR. On 15 October 1994, the UN Security Council passed UNSCR 949 condemning Iraqi aggression and demanding Iraq withdraw its forces to their 20 September positions and prohibiting further enhancement of military capabilities in southern Iraq. On 20 October, the U.S. Government presented a demarche to Iraq outlining U.S. policy concerning enforcement of UNSCR 949. By late October, USCENTCOM had deployed over 28,000 U.S. troops and over 200 additional aircraft into the region. The Iraqi regime backed away from this determined response. Based upon confirmation of the withdrawal of Iraqi forces north of the 32nd parallel, the SECDEF authorized redeployment of U.S. forces in early November.

VIGILANT WARRIOR Forces:

U.S. and Coalition forces employed in support of Operation VIGILANT WARRIOR are detailed below.

U.S. Forces

2 brigades of the 24th Infantry Division (Mechanized)
Marine and Army maritime prepositioned forces
Over 200 additional combat aircraft
USCINCCENT, USCENTCOM HQ element, Component Ccs and Staffs deployed in theater
Patriot Air Defense personnel
Over 20 naval combatants (coalition included)
Coalition Forces

Wasn't part of Vigilant Warrior but my unit 1/4(before i arrived) was part of that. The Marines who deployed said that after they landed, reporters were around them.

I believe you are talking about somalia. There were no reporters when we arrived on site for this operation.
