Thanks "mother's of America" for making the boot camp with "stress cards". Boot camp no longer makes good Marines. It just makes civilians in uniform like the Army and Air Force...WORTHLESS. If this continues, the USMC will no long have a "real reason" for the Congress to give USMC a budget. We are becoming wothless and soon will be found "un-needed".
You know, they were asking about "stress cards" right after I got out of boot back in '93. Urban legend, I don't care whose brother's aunt's cousin's stepcat's son actually knew a kid who had 'em.
Absolutly right. I was in Fallujah in 07-08 I am Army assigned to the RCT (USMC). It's not the same USMC as it was when I was in. They've become "Armyfyed". NCO's can't even drop thier Marines. WTF?! I tried to scrub off my USMC Tattoo but it wouldn't come off.
course I will say when you are your own FOB in Iraq or A-stan that you can pretty much do whatever you want to anybody because that is your turf and there isn't an officer that is going to do anything....I know from experience. this was in '06 also.
The trouble is that we need a high level of discipline to function in combat. Without this, we'd be just as f)*&ed up as the ANA or IA. The sooner that the lawmakers and moms realize this, the sooner we can go back to making good joes again.
I remember being scared sh(*less coming to my unit. Now guys are coming in like they just left the block. Weak. Freakin weak.
Sounds to me like your basic training experience was more akin to "Full Metal Jacket".
As a poolee I am extremely interested as to what is in store for me next Fall, but from what my friends who just graduated are saying, its not nearly as hard as the Corps makes it out to be. Doesnt bother me one bit though.
