If Turkey is going to be an EU member, then, why not EXTEND the offer to Iraq and to Lebanon, and to Palestine and Israel ?



So, then, Syria would be left encircled with states awaiting review for eventual EU membership status as Turkey now is, and Syria would then become prone to conceding to accomodations with the European Union. It would give Iran the same 'expansion worries headache' that Russia now has over Ukrainian and Georgian possible membership. (So, what's Iran going to do in that arrangement, ... start up an axis of resistance togeather with Russia and China ?)



How 'bout it ? What d'you think? Wouldn't all the Iraqi parties go for it the way the parties inside Turley are at present ?

I'm not completely sure the different factions in Iraq would set aside their differences, but I've been wrong before.

By the way, palestine is a region, not a nation. Most of those people called palestinians are from Egypt, Jordan, etc....

Some people need to inform themselves before posting. Turkey's EU acession process has been frozen for the most part. Turkey simply will not comply with certain EU membership criteria.

And some people need to learn to let a dead thread lay.

If not dead, it's on life support. It looks like the French aren't going to let Turkey into the EU any time soon.

I believe that it isn't only France btw, Cyprus and perhaps one or 2 others are also going to use their veto.
