In the past 10 years the Military has come to accept the fact that when one is in harms way, and experiences something so extreme that it alters their security in life (if even for that split second you hear the crack of the AK and have not a clue in the world where to hide - or shoot - or anything), that they may need some help. So you did a tour, or two - and had some experiences...do you have PTSD? a TBI? Anxiety disorder (read as - hmm, we can give them 10% disability for this so it won't cost us that much for &&&&ing up their brain for the rest of their life), or the plethora of other diagnosis that the Military Medical community has come up with.

My wife says she has changed in the ways the household is run - because I have changed. My son says he is sometimes "scared because I can't tell if your joking or serious". My friends tell me...wait, I don't really have any friends - but I used to!

This is a small picture into my world. I am successful, retired from AD but get a disability on top of my retirement, and work in a good job for better pay than most of the people I know. I am also alone in the middle of all this...and I watch very closely how things go on around me. I see that I am thinking other things when people are talking about the stupid things going on in Hollywierd. They don't know, they weren't there.

What about the others...who like me, work hard to do the things in life to appear successful. The Doctors say I cope well...BS! I accept the fact that my brain and life has been indefinitely altered by my experiences. I'm not bitter or mad - the Army probably saved me from worse things I might have done as a kid. Acceptance Doc, that's it. Your mind freak questionare will get no where. You will never know...you must get on that plane and live it.

Now - the purpose for this post...what will our kids think? Will they continue to research the brain and how it works. Will they invent a fake brain to replace the broken components, much like a Tv or computer? Will they take any time to think about this at all...or will they learn that if we accept differrences, agree to disagree (without trying to kill each other to make a point)...that life could be very satisfying. Peace does have a lot of promise - ask someone who lives their entire life in some remote village near the North Pole. I bet they arn't worried about the price of oil...or war...or killing other humans.

What will our kids think?

As long as they truly take advantage of their history books they'll learn that true, lasting, universal peace is a fairy tale. God created man, man sinned and now we have flaws. There will always "the subjugated" and "those who (try to) subjugate."

Live free, or die a slave.

Until the day of redemption arrives, that's how it will be.
