someone who actually knows needs to speak up, but i know at least 2 people that transferred in, one with 2 years of college under his belt, and they had to do the whole 4 years.
To graduate from the USAFA you must do all four years, regardless of how much college you have completed elswhere. The last time I was at USAFA I met a cadet who had completed three full time years of college before entering the academy. He still was required to do all four years at the Zoo.
im currenly a resident, ill become a citizen in 3 years with the help of the air force...just turning 19 so ill be 22.. so its 4 years huh, and its mostly college work? or how does this work?
Everyone does 4 years here. It is college, military training, athletics, character development, and academy BS. I include "academy BS" because there is a fair amount of it. However, I think the opportunities to participate in cool activities more than make up for it.
I reccomend talk.collegeconfidential.com or serviceacademy forums.com in addition to this site because they are more active in discussing the academy.
Regardless of how much college you have, you are required to attend all 4 years at the Academy. You can receive credit for applicable college classes; but, you will need to maintain a certain academic credit load for every semester. The end result is that many cadets with prior college end up graduating with 2 majors. BTW: you have to enter the Academy as a Freshman before you turn 25.5 years old.
