I'm 19 years old. 5'6, 133lbs, White Hispanic (I don't like to bring up ethnicity but affirmative action does exist)
I had a HS GPA of 3.6 and graduated 38 in a class of 178. My SATs were CR- 600, Math- 580, Writing- 720 My one year of college I had a GPA was a 3.6 with Dean's List my second semester (3.8). My HS schedule senior year was: AP English AP Government & Politics Pre-Calculus Physical Education 4/Health 4 Short Stories/Film & Literature I have all my recommendations and teacher evaluations in and passed the DODMERB Examination. I have a congressional nomination from my district congressman. My HS activities included- table tennis club, ministry club, student council (1 year), 1 year of Varisty Track & Field with 1 letter, 2 years of JV Baseball, Interact Club and REBEL. I took the CFA the other day and performed as follows: Basketball Throw- 57'0 Pull-Ups- 13 Shuttle Run- 8.1s Push-Ups- 52 Crunches- 55 (Is this a disqualifying score?) well whats your dream? to be an Air Force officer or to go to the academy? those are 2 seperate questions. If its to go to the academy, then you can try until your 23, but you'll have to do all 4 years. You look like you have decent stats, but no one here can tell you if you'll get in. If its to be an officer, look into ROTC or even OTS if the academy thing doesnt work out. |

That Fitness test is just a requirement, from what I saw while I was there, there are plenty of out of shape people who get in. However, aside from me being cynical you have a great chance of getting in because of demographics. It's a fact, USAFA is trying to get its officers to match its enlisted force demographically. Also, as a minority if you dont get in the first time, they will most likely send you to the Prep School which they use to feed the Academy its athletes, prior enlisted, and other minorities.

Your CFA scores look OK. Not great, but not terrible. Seriously, practice those crunches. They should be the easiest part of the PFT to max.
You have a decent chance, overall. However, no one but the admissions committee can really tell you. |

So what has been your history of applying so far? You are a high school graduate, you applied before? We can assume you are in college now (you give your first year of college results)? You say you took the CFA the other day (we assume that means early July 09) so you are talking to an ALO now?? What do they say?
You say you have a congressional nomination but it is way too early for the committees to have met. Do you mean you had one last year and assume you could get one again this year? From what you give us your SAT math scores are low but you would have been a serious candidate last year...
