Our son is currently at Cape May. I've gotten the paper with his name and Company, and instructions for mail. It states letters can be sent, but no packages or news clippings. Are we able to send photographs? I am aware pornographic photos were on the contraband list, but I am talking about a snapshot of relatives taken over the holidays. (Definately NOT pornographic.....ugh)
Yes, you can send family photos. I wouldn't send too many, space is limited and he's definitely not allowed to put them anywhere except within his personal storage space or wallet.

Best thing you could do for your son is take (1) large family picture and send it, that way he has the whole family and won't get yelled at for a ton of pictures. CPO Kalbach
Our Company Commanders let us have all the photos we wanted. We just had to go square their compartment and show them the pictures to get their approval. If your son is anything like me he wants to stay as far away from that hatch as possible haha. By the end of training some of my shipmates practically had a whole photo album in their racks.
