Does anyone know if being prescribed Prilosec for acid reflux is a disqualifying(sp) thing? I haven't checked the regs yet as I am at home and my wife was wondering for a friend that she works with who's husband is looking at joining. Thanks for any help.

I had gerd really bad when I was in my early teens and had surgery to get it fixed. It is completely fixed now and I don't have any more problems with it.

I am currently serving in the Air Force and MEPS knew about the condition and surgery. I had to get a medical waiver to join but it went through without a hitch. The regs might be different for the Air Force if you are interested. Good luck.

I take the prescription Protonix for my acid reflux and it works great. I get it real bad when I don't take my meds.

Good luck to the OP.
