Is a history of seizures considered a disqualifying factor for enlistment in the CG reserves? A little background: 35 year old male who has had 3 seizures during entire life and currently takes medication for it. MRI's, CT Scans and doctors have never been able to pinpoint a cause of the seizures but have recently concluded that they were non-epileptic. Every EEG ever done has come back normal. Has been taking meds on and off for over 10 years and has never had another seizure while on the meds. Is there a possibility for acceptance into the USCGR or would that be considered a permanent medical disqualification?

Of course you haven't had a seizure, you are on anti seizure meds(this is a PDQ in itself). CPO Kalbach
I wasn't asking the question for myself. And the question I was trying to get answered was if having had a seizure in the past is disqualifying. Since it's been concluded that the seizures were non-epileptic, the doctors are planning to take him off the meds. If he doesn't have a seizure within a certain period of time while off the meds would he be eligible to enlist? Is this something that would have to go thru a medical evaluation first or is the fact of having had a seizure in the past automatically a disqualification?
