Does anyone know what the deal is with enlisting or doing reserves and trying to become an IS?

I applied for OCS didn't get accepted, and am now looking to go the route of IS, but I've heard rumors that this rate isn't avaliable now?

AP8, the rating is available but not one that a recruiter can guarantee in your contract. Speak with your recruiter about coming in without a job and when you get to your first unit you can complete the prereqs to attend IS "A" school. As long as you meet all requirements to attend the school you will go. OSC Thomas, Recruiting Office Denver

Thanks MC I completely missed the "or reserves". AP8, A recruiter can not guarantee the IS rating for active duty or reserves. Again, contact your recruiter to discuss your options. OSC Thomas, Recruiting Office Denver
