ive been lurking around the forum..and have been wanting to join the coast guards.(actually meeting recruiter face to face today) for some time..
my one and only question for joining is my vision..is there a medical DQ for your vision?...just to say my vision isnt really the greatest...and is there anyway i could waiver it if possible?
I'll try asking in this thread since no one has gotten around to answering me yet in the aviation section. I've seen 20/50 tossed around a few times as the cut off for being able to qualify for aircrew positions AET/AMT. Is this always the case? I believe my vision is around 20/100.. am I sort of screwed?
I also looked around a little bit to try and change my 'name' from these numbers to something else and couldn't find it. If anyone can help me out there it would be appreciated lol

You need to get the official call from MEPS on your eyesight and then a recruiter can tell you for sure. CPO Kalbach
