Hello my name is Michele and I was just wondering how long it takes a recruiter to get back to you once you have called and they have done their questionairre. My boyfriend is very interested in joining. He already has insight of the coastie life from his father who just retired a year and a half ago from the CG. He is starting to get nervous and I am no expert on recruiters so I figured I would ask. Thank you for reading!

Not sure where you are located, but it took my recruiter about a week to get back to my once I called the office. Then I found out that the office I called has a area of almost the whole panhandle of Florida. Unlike the other branchs that have a office in almost every city, But Im glad I waited.

Just tell him to be persistent. Have him call the office again. These recruiters are very busy, they most likely cover a large area, which means a lot of recruits for one guy. It differs for eveybody but once I got the ball rolling it took me about 6 months. Im leaving in a couple of weeks. I'm glad I waited too.

My office covers most of one state and part of another. We are busy, if it's been a few days try calling again. I can't speak for all recruiters, but I'm fine with my applicants calling, and if I can't talk at that moment I call them back as soon as I can. On the other hand, at some points in the process I have to wait for other people to do their part before going to the next step, and sometimes that takes a while.

Some offices cover more than 1 state with only 2 recruiters. If your boyfriend has done the questionaire, does he need any additional paperwork? What did the recruiter tell him to do?? Have him check back in, it's his career, he needs to take the reins. CPO Kalbach

If you are not the lead dog the view never changes. The longer he waits, the longer the wait to join. The line to join gets longer everyday.

Yeah we both live in Pinellas county, Florida located closer to the St. Pete / clearwater area. I would assume he would need to do additional paper work as he has not signed anything, the recruiter told him that he would call back sometime last week. This may sound awful, but he found his recruiter on myspace and also tried to email him on there, would it have been better if he didnt do that?

Keep in mind that you're dealing with one of the busiest offices in the country, too. Stay persistent and they'll get back to you.
