My wife just got her Associates in Nursing. She's always wanted to join the USCG but I don't think there is a nurse corps, is there? I haven't seen anything indicating as much and I have heard that the USPHS is responsible for the USCG's officer-grade medical care. Is this right? Is there any hope for her to find herself on a USCG vessel performing nursing tasks as an officer (ideally in the Reserve component) in at least one of the uniformed services (excluding the USA and USMC)?

USPHS is the only way, the only vessel that use PA's are the icebreakers. Otherwise it is Health Services Tech's(enlisted). Coast Guard only has approx 52,000 total men/women. CPO Kalbach
