My son is 20 and interested in joining the CG, but he has 3 misdemeanor convictions on his record. What is the CG policy regarding prior record? Do you know which military service would accept him inspite of the record? Thank you.

We are pretty picky right now as we have no shortage of applicants. You would have to be a little more specific on what the convictions were for, how long ago, etc.

Charged with giving false ID (said his name was Clark Kent) and resisting arrest in Kentucky this past February. Charged with Drug paraphernalia police found in a house he was staying at in Alabama 3 weeks ago. He paid fine, was released and is now home trying to give his life new direction.

I wish him well, but probably not worth his time to talk to a recruiter. We are, in part, a Law Enforcement Agency with Counter Narcotics as one of our focus areas. We also have no shortage of applicants at all, so we have little reason to consider moral waivers.

History of not being able to follow known laws of the land, not following the orders of a sworn LE officer. Best to check other services. CPO Kalbach
