1st of all I have some medical conditions I had picked up during my three year contract with the Army. Mostly minor physical wounds that did require surgery. I also had some conditions that existed before the army yet were waived by Army doctors so I could serve. These being minor mental issues (such as depression and ADD.) So my question on this is if I have proof of being able to serve in one branch and cleared by the Army, would this suffice for the coast guard? Or will this prevent me from gaining entry, thus a better life?

The other problem is I was reluctant to re enlist any other service for two years after my discharge from the Army for the Army soured me on the military experience that much, that I do not want to repeat that same experience again. However I have done my research and heard many people tell me they never regretted going coast guard. I need help making my mind up here. I wish to go in so I can have a better life financially yet do not want to do it if it requires me be just as miserable again. Need help deciding on this.

If you've done your research, it's probably time to go talk to a Recruiter. Your medical issues could be a barrier to enlistment, but no one can tell without knowing the full story. You need to go talk to a Recruiter for that.
No one can tell you if you will enjoy the Coast Guard and before you are able to make that decision, you need to see if you are qualified.

I'm with Down on this. You don't know if you are even qualified to join. So you need to contact your local recruiter first, lay out all that you have here and go from there.

Best case scenario, you provide all the records that you did for the Army for the waivers, and then all the follow up medical records while in the Army. Just because the Army waivers something(they have a service need, so more waivers granted) doesn't mean the Coast Guard will.
1. Call that local recruiter. CPO Kalbach
