Chief,
Could you please define what a Time in Service Waiver is for me. I am unsure what exactly this waiver would constitute. Thank you. This is the message for OCS applicants for FY2008:

9. WAIVERS:
A. NO TIME IN SERVICE WAIVERS WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR FY08 FOR ANY
OFFICER PROGRAM.
B. AGE WAIVERS WILL BE CONSIDERED ONLY FOR DCA APPLICANTS, BASED ON
SUPERIOR PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AS DETERMINED BY THE AVIATION
PROGRAM MANAGER, NEEDS OF THE SERVICE, AND ON A CASE BY CASE BASIS.
NO OTHER AGE WAIVERS FOR ANY OTHER PROGRAM WILL BE CONSIDERED.

This information might help.

OCS Temporary Commission:

Military Service.

Be presently serving in the Coast Guard as an E-5 or above with at least four years of active military service, two years of which must be active duty in the Coast Guard.

Reserve Commission:

Military Service.

Have not more than six-years of non-Coast Guard active duty military service.

**Waivers: Waiver decisions are based on needs of the service and current recruiting environment.

Thanks cgluke. I know about those requirements, but I am not sure what they mean by "Time in Service Waiver". Is it an actual waiver like the Army has? Or is it just a general statement? Here is the link to the Army's definition of a "Time in Service Waiver":

https://www.hrc.army.mil/site/Active/opdistacc/OCS/OCS_APPL.htm

Thanks though...

That means that you must have the 4 years of service and 2 years of it on active duty coast guard. A time waiver is not even an option.
